Late night blog make-over

I decided to try a new look for the blog.  Let me know what you think.  Normally I wouldn’t be attending to such silly details at this late of an hour in the evening but the stifling hot temperatures in our room are keeping me from sleeping…which is a travesty considering I have to get up super early tomorrow morning. 

Another possible reason for tonight’s insomnia is my mind is reeling with excitement over the knowledge that in just three short days from now I get to see my friend Courtney!!  She and her husband are meeting me up in Fairbanks on Saturday and from there just us girls are heading north to Denali National Park where we will be spending the next 6 days camping, backpacking, and bird watching.  Okay, maybe not bird watching but  wildlife watching for sure. This vacation marks my only planned vacation this summer.  I have been counting down the months and days until August 11 ever since the planning of the trip first started in early February.  Rest assured, the camera will be making the trip up with me.  Check back for amazing pictures and stories.  After all, those are the only kind I know how produce, obviously.   I also get to see my friend Mistylena whom I haven’t seen in over a year.  She is flying up from Sacramento to visit on the 16th.  As if THAT wasn’t enough–a trip to Denali and a visit from another good friend, my roommate’s dad and brother, Bruce and Morgan, are also driving up to Skagway on the 16th for a weekend visit.  It will be an eventful week and a half packed with lots of travel, lots of amazing fellowship, and many sweet tastes of home for which I will be so extremely grateful (Washington, I miss you!).   

On that note, thanks to all of you for continuing to read, comment, and take part in my journey this summer.  My time here has been wonderful in and of itself, but my enjoyment increases all the more by being able to share the experience with each and every one of you.
